i’ve made a decision.

So The Abandoned Edge of Avalon is finished and I’m working on specific submissions to send out…of course, each agent/publisher wants something different so I have to tweak something for every sub… And I have a few publishers I spoke with who are expecting something from me so I need to get on the ball
One major thing I changed is the title. As much as I love TAEOA and wish I could use it, it just doesn’t make sense now that the book is finished. A lot changes over the course of writing a book — things pop up that you don’t expect…characters do what they want and you find yourself changing things to make it all work. So *abandoned* doesn’t really fit anymore.
I was going to use At The Edge of Avalon, but a friend suggested On The Edge… based on what I’m doing for the next book, which will be something along the lines of *Trapped in Avalon* but not that generic….a title will come to me, I’m sure, while writing it.. So now I need to pick a title and go forth with my plan. The first step is to give the specifics of what I want for a cover to my author friend,Poppet, since she does amazing work and said she’d help… Then there’s the forty-seven steps after that……

Suffice it to say, my book will be available, no matter what, in both ebook && paperback format by the end of the year. I do know that for a fact. When I have the details, I’ll let you know… And then I guess I’ll see what happens from there.

I guess that was a long enough break. Off to write a couple more articles — ya know…pay the bills….the fun stuff in life

So I’ve been finishing up Avalon….only took a zillion years. Probably because I put it down for almost an entire year and just picked it up recently to finish it and revise.
I’ve received one request so far and haven’t had the guts to do many other queries, but the way I look at it, I want to get used to this process slowly but surely. And, I want to get my first rejection out of the way so I know how it *truly* feels. Yeah, I know…negativity will get you nowhere…blahblahblah. I’m actually a v. positive person, I’m just being realistic.
I mean, I love my book. I know hundreds of others who’ve read at least the beginning and they enjoyed it, as well, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy to get an agent, let alone get published. This is a tough business we’re in, so we shall see.

I’m off to bed, but I just wanted to post something quickly before I did so. It’s been so long since I’ve been on here that I had to renew my domain just to be able to post!!!
I need to get back in the game!

I’ve been kinda busy…

So I moved. Again. Yup.
I’m back up with my family and struggling in some ways, but my writing has never been better. I’m inspired. I’m in love with my characters. I even adore my crazy articles about bamboo and iDogs. Yup.
I’m also thrilled because I have a new job!!!!
I am now Co-Editor for Fuel Your Writing!! So thrilled about this new adventure and am throwing myself straight into it.
The best part is that I get to do a lot of what I already did . . . Live on Facebook and Twitter!! How cool is that?!??

Anyway, I’m off to write some stuff — need to edit my article for Monday (seriously…i can edit my own stuff now!! …well I already did because I’m just like that, but now I can *officially* do it =))

Hope everyone’s good. Sorry I’ve been such a horrible blogger lately. I hope to change that soon (yeah, I know I keep saying that…). But seriously, the more I have to do, the more I tend to get done. It’s all about time management and ambition and confidence. So we’ll see

Just signed up.
I was planning on just *planning* the book last night, but I ended up writing 2.5k instead. And I’m loving it!!
I didn’t think I was gonna do NaNo this year because I have so much going on, but I guess I am. I have a feeling I’ll actually win, too!! (At least I’d better )
K, that’s all. Not much else going on. Alexis is still officially not talking to me, so I’m spending my time on Kyle now. Heh, maybe it’ll make Alexis jealous and I can finish Avalon…

First, I’m sooo happy to say that I am now a professional writer. I’m freelancing and my first article was approved to be published just today and I’ve already submitted another.

But, I also finished writing an article for Fuel Your Writing about twenty minutes ago and just have to once-over it before I submit. Friday is my day to post for If You Give a Girl a Pen and I’m already working on that. I have NO intention of quitting the writing I do for free just because I’m getting paid now.
And this article posted on Fuel tells you exactly why.

Not getting paid is the best way to end up with money.
I always wanted it to happen, but never thought it would. Always thought it was just a dream…. Well, I was wrong and I’m living proof that putting forth lots (and lots) of effort will get you where you want to go–or at least get you started on the path!

So go read Giselle’s article and donate your time and your knowledge. You’ll be happy you did!!!

These words are amazing.
I don’t always pay attention to lyrics when listening to songs—my head is usually other places while enjoying the music. But this line Always pops out at me…

I’ve had some great inspiration lately for my writing based on some crazy feelings I’m having — about something in particular, but also about my life in general.
I’m on a roll with my novel and I’m loving it. I hope to have it completed soon….we’ll see…

No matter what, my mind is always going, writing something. I know I should direct it back toward this blog every once in a while. But the finished product (of my book) will be worth the lack of posts on here as of late. I’m in love with this book and cannot wait to get it out to more readers — even just betas….

well, i was going to post a picture of my new book cover today, but i’m gonna give you a link instead.
i received such a cool comment today and this is what the reviewer (a fellow writer) had to say — check it out!

i decided to go with adult fiction (alexis is now 24) with a thriller twist and the book feels right to me now. so right! and others are seeming to agree.
and i adore my new cover. fits the book soooo well.

Yesterday, I submitted a flash fiction entry — I have to wait until Sept 5th to find out anything.. Grr.

Today, I submitted my first article to Fuel Your Writing. Hope the editor likes it!!

At the moment, I’m going to take a nap (yes, at 2 am) and wake up in an hour (refreshed, hopefully!) to continue my packing. I shall be on the road back home by 10 at the latest. I’m shooting for 9, though, because EdenTime is nothing like RealTime… I’m always late, no matter how hard I try. I’m going to be exhausted and don’t want to drive through any Friday rush hour traffic, so I have to head out early before I hit Louisville…

yay for me! =)

While I would absolutely love to get paid for my writing, I’m more than thrilled that I get to write on three blogs of my own along with if you give a girl a pen….
To add to these, I will now be a regular contributor to Fuel Your Writing! I’ll be getting a cool Fuel Avatar with an extended bio on the about page that shows the editor and authors.
I haven’t written that first article yet, but I will be soon. Y’all will be the first to get the link when I do it. =D
