one of my end tables.

i have books everywhere in my house. it’s ridiculous.

my vampire, faery, and scary story shelf. well, one of them...

these are just the ones that are somewhat organized.

i had to take over the kid's shelves!!

i adore these built-ins. the books are doubled stacked just like the ones above!

the entire living room had built-in bookshelves all around, but the previous owner took them out.
i soooo wish they were still here.
three floor to ceiling shelves just gone.. =(
*************
now i need to go organize my armoire, which has the majority of my books in it…
it’s getting so full i’m afraid the shelves are gonna bow or break or something!!
but first, i really, truly am posting a deleted scene on a new page.

ohh, that is sad to loose built-ins! I had a similar experience with built- ins when we moved in. originals…:(

      yeah..
the house i live in is the one my dad grew up in, so i know what it used to look like. when the house was built in the ’50′s, the bookshelves were there.
even looking at the walls now, i can see the lines in the paint where they used to be.
      so depressing =(

I love actually seeing pictures of your shelves!

      i love pictures of books.
but, yeah, especially seeing what others have.
(although i used my phone for the pictures—not a clue why i didn’t just grab my camera—and so the quality isn’t exactly stellar…)

I am not computer literate enough to post pictures yet. I barely know how to blog without having a technical meltdown. I have no recent pictures of myself and have no idea how to scan old ones, so for now I am my Siamese cat who looks better than me anyway.

I too, stack books on coffee tables with vases or other decorations on them. I use books all over my house as an esthetic of sorts. I saw in a home and garden magazine a shelf with all the books stacked page side out. I hated it. I mean, how impractical is that? And ugly.

yay! so i’m not the only one who uses books for purposes other than shelving. i, of course, wanted to display the books, but the main reason was that the base of the lamp was too short as compared to the lamp on my other end table (i’m not a big matchymatchy person). so, i put a stack of my favorite (black to match the black lamp) books there. my mom thought it was ridiculous, but to her credit, at the time i wasn’t reading much and so she thought the books were pretty much being wasted—only used for aesthetic purposes. and they were. (i didn’t read for a long time after college…)

ew–page side out. that’s just ridiculous!! what’s the point. and yes, i can imagine it would be ugly.

as far as your picture, who doesn’t love siamese cats? i just posted on someone else’s blog that i used to have one named jewel (she expressed her feelings that her cat was a jewel). i miss that cat. soo pretty. maybe i can find an old picture and post it…
as far as posting pics, i only know html because i used to be super-obsessed with myspace a few years back. now i don’t go anywhere near the site, but i learned a lot. i was actually more into posting things and designing my page than the whole networking/friends thing..
plus, if there’s anything i forget, i have a html code website bookmarked.

ok, i think this comment is long enough ;) :P
      xx
